League One Tuesday


Crewe captain Neil Cox has received a hamstring injury not long after coming back from a problem with his calf. While Notts County have signed Leyton Orient midfielder McHahon on loan for a month. Also, this week, Brentford boss, Leyroy Rosenior takes in criticism from supporters after four losses in a row including a first round FA cup knockout from Doncaster. Meanwhile at Gillingham, on loan MK Dons defender Ben Chorley is keen on getting a permanent contract at Priestfield. All this in this and more weeks League One Update.

Blackpool lost 1-0 away to Huddersfield in the FA cup 1st Round. However they have got them again in the league at Bloomfield Road.

Bournemouth thrashed league two Boston United 4-0 in the FA cup including a record breaking goal by Danny Holland of 43.7 yards but next they meet Carlise in League one.

After the Lions win last night Bradford will face Millwall in the next round of the FA Cup. After thrashing Crewe 4-0 in the first round.

Losing to Doncaster and the previous three games has meant that Brentford Boss Leroy Rosenior has been a focus point of Brentford pressure, he adds "I have had a lot of stick which is understandable but the fans have to keep the faith. The Bees will try to end the rot at home this saturday against Crewe.

Brighton were the highest scorers in the FA cup first round as they put 8 goals past Northwich Victoria, however they will not expect such an easy game at home to Tranmere this saturday.

Afer narowly beating York in the FA cup, Bristol City will try to get two wins against Gillingham as they play them next in the league and have been drawn agaisnt them in the second round of the FA cup.

Carlise were knocked out of the cup by Swindon but they can now focus on league football with an away trip to Bournemouth.

A replay will have to be played for Cheltenham as they were at a stalemate with Scunthorpe. News that comes from Whaddon Road includes boss John Ward offering a new contract to top scorer Grant McCann however he has not yet commited his future to the Robins. Cheltenham will face an away trip to Saltergate this Saturday.

Chesterfield were on the back of the biggest upset of the first round as they were beaten 1-0 to lower league outfit Basingstoke.

Gillingham comfortably went into the 2nd round of the FA cup against Bromley and they hope that Bristol City away will not be the end of the Gills winning streak. Former MK Dons captain has stated that he is keen to get a permanent contract at the Priestfield.

League One leaders Nottingham Forest cruised through to the second round of the FA cup with a 5-0 win over Yeading, they will be aiming to get to 40 points with a win against Yeovil.

Oldham were involved in an interesting game against Kettering of 4-3 but in the end the Latics got through, however Bradford will not be an easy game.

Port Vale beat Lincoln 2-1 in the FA cup and will face Swansea at home this Saturday.

After a loss to Peterborough Rotherham will expect another hard game against league one leaders Forest.

Scunthorpe play Northampton at home this saturday after a FA cup stalemate against Cheltenham.

Swansea won the FA cup welsh tie against Newport county 3-1 but they have also agreed to bring in Birmingham Defender Marcos Painter for a month.

Tranmere will wish for another two goal victory like in the Cup as they travel to the Withdean to play Brighton.

And, Yeovil will want a win against Orient after being knocked out of the cup by Rushden and Diamonds.
